Every month I chronicle those ordinary delights that give me comfort or offer a place of reflection or joy. Here are my everyday delights for March.
1. My Little Mountain Bindery Fillion: My bullet journal is housed in my engraved Fillion. I like unfolding it, turning to my journal and writing my to-do list, my affirmations and the work I need to do for the day. My Fillion travels everywhere with me – if you would like your own, check out this site.

2. Spring in the desert: This past week spring arrived on the calendar and in the desert. There are blooms everywhere on my running path and I can’t help but stop, pause, and take a snapshot of these beauties.

3. This coffee mug: I love my coffee in the morning and adore my mugs. This mug is simple, but serves as a reminder of all the things I treasure in the morning: the smell of my brew, my writing practice and the silence of those early hours.

4. Laniege Water Sleeping Mask: It gets dry in the desert and this impacts my skin. I like using a water sleeping mask. In the morning when I wake up, the softness of my skin feels great. The good news? It isn’t expensive and works for all skin types.

What were some of your everyday delights this month?
Welcome! I am a lawyer turned freelance writer, essayist, and editor. On staff at Literary Mama and the co-founder and co-editor of the literary journal, The Sunlight Press, my essays and reported work have appeared in The Washington Post, The Lily, Saveur, Civil Eats, Brain, Child, ESPN and elsewhere. I am currently at work on a memoir on grief and culture and how it provides perspective on life’s ordinary graces. I invite you to appreciate the ordinary with me. I hope my daily practice of seeing the magic in the mundane helps you celebrate and find more of these moments in your life too.
I’d love that mask! I love products that work overnight.
And the journal is swoon. Spring in the desert is a concept that makes me smile a lot.
Cheers to products that work overnight. It is the ultimate in multi-tasking.
