Every month I chronicle those ordinary delights that give me comfort or offer a place of reflection or joy. Here are my everyday delights for January.
1. My standing desk: As a writer, I need to remain proactive about standing and not sitting too long in front of the computer. I looked for standing writing desks for years and my husband finally found one that has changed the way I work. I am more productive because of this desk space. It is a Trensanti white standing desk with the option to adjust heights.
2. My book list for this month: I have a pile of books I am reading in January which include Tell Me More by Kelly Corrigan, Jon Acuff’s Finish, Exit West by Mohsin Hamid, No Time to Spare by Ursula K. Le Guin, and Her Body and Other Parties by Carmen Maria Machado.
3. Giving Keys Necklace: My word of the year is mindful. I love the mission of Giving Keys and ordered this necklace as a fun reminder of my focus in 2018.
4. My Bullet Journal stickers: I adore my bullet journal and reward myself with fun quotes and sayings on my weekly calendar page. When I saw these stickers at Paper Source, I knew they would be the perfect accessory for my bullet journal.
What were some of your everyday delights this month?
Book lists are as amazing as bullet journal stickers!!
Cassidy has a standing desk at work. I have never tried it but I think it’s a great idea. I need to be more productive!
The standing desk is life changing. I highly recommend it!
ooooh! I love your stickers! And your desk!
I love my stickers too. They are motivating.
Hi Rudri, Was thinking of you and wanted to pay a visit…I know it’s been a while! Your monthly “Delights” series was what I was in the mood for today. I am intrigued by the standing desk…as someone who (is lazy and) likes to sit I am glad to hear that you’ve found yourself even more productive with the new format. I hope you’ve been well.
So good to hear from you. Yes, the standing desk is worth the investment. This desk is adjustable and when I want to sit I can. I find I am more productive while standing.
Hope all is well in your world. Miss ya and glad you dropped by to say hello! xo
