There are several books sitting on my shelves, begging for my attention. This year, I’ve vowed to be more consistent with my reading and I am happy to report I’ve succeeded (thus far) in my commitment. Here is what is on my bookshelf:
Real Artists Have Day Jobs by Sara Benincasa
Lincoln in the Bardo by George Saunders
Summer Island by Kristin Hannah
1984 by George Orwell
The Obstacle is the Way by Ryan Holiday
South and West by Joan Didion
What is currently on your bookshelf?

I’m definitely looking forward to reading Lincoln in the Bardo. Right now I’m about half way through an advance sample of THE LIGHT WE LOST. So far, I’d recommend it!
I will have to check out The Light We Lost, Jackie. Thanks for the recommendation.
This might be the first time we have no overlap! I’m working on a Do Listen Read for this week that will have the books I’m reading.
Nina,
I always look forward to your Do Listen Read posts. Can’t wait to see your recommendations!
1984 is really making a comeback! As it should.
I just finished “Small Great Things” and now I’m about to read “Big Little Lies.” Similar titles.. hmm..
I need to check out “Small Great Things.” Yes, I agree Orwell’s books are making a comeback.
I’ll be looking forward to hearing about the Didion. I think they are making 1984 into (or trying to) a Broadway musical!
Ah, interesting. I didn’t know about the musical. Thanks for letting me know, Luanne.
