Every month I chronicle those ordinary delights that give me comfort or offer a place of reflection or joy. Here are my everyday delights for August:
1. These magnets: These tiny magnets serve as a daily reminder to remember what is important. Think of others, scatter sunshine, forget self, expect little, give much and live simply are wise words – Having these small, but meaningful sayings help ground me on what is important.
2. Stillness: Bothered by restlessness, I am actively seeking moments to pause. I try to spend several seconds focusing on quiet and sinking into the present. Last week, after exiting a grocery store, I caught this view of the trees. The landscape vibrated with one word: stillness.
3. Book of the Month Membership: If you are an avid reader, the BOTM is worth the money. Every month 5 judges select a single book to recommend. Members can pick one hardcover book for the membership price and add on additional books for $9.99 each. It’s a great membership to gift to friends and family who love reading books regularly.
4.Coldplay Concert: I adore concerts and Coldplay is one of my favorite bands to see live. Chris Martin always gives his all to his performances and his band members complement him well. I loved listening to Coldplay sing Fix You, Yellow and A Sky Full of Stars.
What were your everyday delights for August?
I went to a Coldplay concert once. It was awesome!
The magnets rock.
They definitely put on a memorable and fantastic show.
Okay, this is so funny because I JUST asked on FB if anyone knows about Book of the Month club. Do you do it? I used to do audible and had hard time keeping up. I do read WAY more than I listened to books though. I’m thinking about it. I agree it’s a GREAT gift.
Nina,
I do participate in the BOTM club. It is still pretty fresh, but I am enjoying the recommendations. You should do it!
Book of the month club sounds like a good gift to book lovers. Thank you!
