I am a voracious reader and every week I come across either a book, online piece or website I want to share with others. I’ve decided to curate these gems and highlight them on Friday. I hope you find these faves as insightful as I do.
- What specific habits make you happy? I enjoyed reading, 7 Habits of Incredibly Happy People by Gregory Ciotti. After reading this piece, I am considering some of my habits and how they impact me. I may have to write about these habits in a separate post.
- Would you pull a piece that was accepted for publication? Read Reyna Marder Gentin decision in “On the Difference Between Writing and Publishing” in the publication, Mothers Always Write.
- Have you seen the video of Candace Payne in the Chewbacca mask? I guarantee that watching this clip will keep you laughing all day.
- Here is a list of books that spark joy from Ann Patchett’s Parnussus Musings.
What were some of your favorite reads this week?
Thanks for sharing the Gentin piece, Rudri. Food for thought in it, for sure. Just because we can, should we?
It is a complicated question and Gentin’s piece offers interesting insight to navigate that uncertain terrain.
Loved Patchett’s list. Fabulous!
I keep hoping to visit Ann Patchett’s bookstore the next time I’m in the Nashville area. I have a feeling I could spend the entire day in there.
Speaking of happiness habits, do you listen to the Gretchen Rubin podcast Happier? I’ve been catching up on older episodes — really enjoying those little tidbits.
Jackie,
I’ve never been to Nashville and would love to visit Ann Patchett’s bookstore as well as Graceland.
I’ve only listened to a handful of Rubin’s podcasts. I need to catch-up.
I went right for the list of books that spark joy.
And now to read about happy people! What a truly personal and enlightening study.
I agree – the study makes some interesting points that are worthy of contemplation.
Thank you for sharing 🙂 ❤️
