Every month I chronicle those ordinary delights that give me comfort or offer a place of reflection or joy. Here are my everyday delights for October:
1. Brave Enough by Cheryl Strayed
I love Cheryl Strayed and adore quotes. All of her wisdom is collected in this tiny, but powerful read, Brave Enough. One of my favorite quotes: “You cannot convince people to love you. This is an absolute rule. No one will every give you love because you want him or her to give it. Real love moves freely in both directions. Don’t waste your time on anything else.”
2. Orange Theory Classes
I like to supplement my running with different exercise programs. I’ve tried various weight and fitness classes over the years and recently I discovered Orange Theory Fitness. The intensity of the exercise targets your personal heart rate so you push yourself depending on how hard you want to work out.
3. Smashing S’mores from Trader Joe’s
I remember roasting marshmallows during campfires as a Girl Scout. We would make s’mores with graham crackers and Hershey chocolate. When I saw these smashing s’mores at Trader Joe’s I was skeptical at first, but after one bite, I was sold.
4. These coasters
I bought these coasters at a small shop in Sedona. I love the vintage look and smile every time I place the coffee cup on one of these coasters.

I love these posts, Rudri. I’m glad you’re enjoyed Cheryl Strayed’s new book. I’d like to read Brene Brown’s new one, Rising Strong. Is that one on your list?
Jackie,
I highlighted Brene Brown’s book last month. Her message is so powerful. She also has a podcast with Tim Ferriss you must check out. Let me know if it resonates with you.
I thought I knew everything delightful from Trader Joe’s! This changes everything!

All good things! I for sure want to read Strayed’s newest. I’m sure I will be highlighting everything.
