Sacred space is an absolute necessity for anybody today. You must have a room, or a certain hour or so a day, where you don’t know what was in the newspapers that morning, you don’t know who your friends are, you don’t know what you owe anybody, you don’t know what anybody owes to you. This is a place where you can simply experience and bring forth what you are and what you might be. This is the place of creative incubation. At first you may find that nothing happens there. But if you have a sacred place and use it, something eventually will happen. – Joseph Campbell

Yes yes yes yes.
Absolutely love this.
Glad it resonated with you, Sarah.
That is amazing! I love the photo but I love the quote so much. It reminds me of a friend of mine from college. We’d go through rough times and not feel safe, and we’d remind ourselves that within ourselves, is the ability to find sacred spaces. Within our minds, or even physically. Sometimes those two go hand in hand.
Tamara,
What a wise way to bond with your friend in college. Yes, to finding those sacred spaces wherever we can.
I do this when I come home – I just watch Barefoot Contessa from 3-4PM and that makes me happy. I don’t turn on the laptop or check my phone. It makes me happy and inspires me in the kitchen. Other than that, I try to avoid it before bed but sometimes I fail. I’m not good with consistency except when I’m watching Barefoot Contessa.. Assuming no blogging responsibilities are pressing. 🙂 Love this because it is so true and yet so overlooked. Have a wonderful 4th of July holiday weekend Rudri!! -Iva
I love how you unplugged and embraced your moment, Iva. Sometime we all need to take time to carve out space for ourselves. Have a good holiday weekend!
Still can’t figure out how to keep somebody else out of that sacred space! Happy holidays, Rudri!
Happy holiday to you too, Luanne. xo
Love this. And needed it today. Thank you.
