I am excited and grateful to participate in Rachel Cedar’s series, 28 Days of Play, where mothers and fathers discuss their desire or reluctance to play with their children. As parents, we provide our kids with basic needs, but how often do we play with them? When Rachel asked me to contribute my thoughts on how I play with my daughter, I paused an anxiety churned in my gut. The questions and guilt started tumbling in my head. Thanks to Nina Badzin for the introduction and Rachel Cedar for this opportunity. The insights continue throughout the month, so please visit Rachel’s site You Plus 2 Parenting and explore essays from writers that I regularly read and admire.

I’d love it if you read my confession on how I play with my only daughter and add your thoughts to the conversation. Here is my post, A Confession from a Mother of an Only Child.
