It is that time again. Every month I chronicle those everyday things that give me comfort or offer a place of reflection or joy. Here are my everyday delights for October:
1. This framed picture: Happiness is writing your own story.
I found this frame this past month at a local Hallmark store. It sits on my nightstand and every time I glance at it, I smile. I am so grateful that everyday I possess the opportunity to write my story.
2. This photo: Birthday Surprise for my Sister
I planned a birthday surprise for my sister in October. We booked tickets for my brother-in-law’s wedding and we decided to fly in early to surprise my sister on her actual birthday. We hid in her house and as soon as she came home from work we yelled, “Surprise.” This picture is during our dinner together. I love these ladies. They accept me unconditionally.
3. This course: Writing Naturally by Corinne Cunningham
As a writer, I am always trying to find ways to improve my skills and participate in workshops that will enhance my writing. I loved taking Corinne’s class in October. I rekindled my passion for free writes and fiction. I love learning and am grateful that I can always be a student. I encourage all writers to take Corinne’s class. 4. This song: Shake it Off
Some of you maybe surprised that I listen to Taylor Swift. Her recent song is so uplifting, its become an anthem for those days that I need a boost of energy. There is so much we can choose to shake off, right? Sometimes we need a hearty reminder. That’s why I love this song.

Yay #4! (the others ones, too, of course)
Aw, I love Snoopy. I have loved the fall colors and warmer than usual temperatures this October — a perfect combination for getting outside to enjoy nature! I’ve also gotten back to exercising on a regular basis, which does wonders for my energy and mental state.
Exercise automatically uplifts me when I am feeling down. On the days I skip this part of my routine, I regret it.
Great! 🙂 love it !
I admit the song gets in my head a lot! Shake it off!
What a beautiful sentiment with Snoopy. I love that. And happiness IS that.
For me, October was about photography and foliage. I miss that it’s falling off the trees!
My daughter loves Shake it Off, too. So for now we have it on repeat. I am certain (or hope) she will tire of it soon.
